Your biggest bully… {is you}

the voices you listen toSometimes your biggest bully is not your enemy, your next door neighbor, or your friend.

Sometimes the biggest bully is you.

It’s you who chooses to listen to the lies in your head that tell you you are unworthy. That you have no purpose. That you have no hope.

It’s you who chooses to believe that you will always fail, that you are not beautiful, that you will always be alone.

It’s you who chooses to accept the lies that come into your head as truth.

It’s you that allows them to define you. To mold you. To direct your life.

Sometimes you don’t need to look far to figure out who the biggest bully in your life is.

Who the biggest threat to a future of hope in Christ is.

Who creates the biggest obstacles to overcome.

It’s that person that you see in the mirror every day. It’s not anyone else, but you.

Today whose voice will you choose to listen to? Your own? Or God’s?

Because when you say things are impossible for you and your situation will never change, God says there is absolutely nothing that is impossible for Him to do in your life.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible- Matthew 19:26

When you say that you have no hope and no desire to live God says you are never hopeless in Him.

Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my [sad] countenance, and my God. – Psalm 43: 5

When you say you are useless and have nothing significant to contribute to the world God says you were created in advance to do the good works He has prepared for you to do.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10

When you say you are worthless, God says your worth is so much more than you can imagine for it was your worth in His eyes that made Him choose to give up His One and Only son

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?- Matthew 6:26

When you say you have no purpose and no future to look forward to, God says His plans for you include a great future and a hope. Plans to take care of you. Plans for your own good.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.- Jeremiah 29:11

When you say nobody loves you God says that someone loved You enough to sacrifice His life and die on a cross for you.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16

When you say you are not beautiful, God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Fashioned with great care by His own hands.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. – Psalm 139:14

When you say you will always be alone God says you will never walk alone because He is with you wherever you go.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go – Joshua 1:9

Today… my challenge for you is this: don’t be your biggest bully. Don’t listen to the voices in your head that don’t align with God’s Word.

Instead, listen to what God says about you and your life.

About your purpose.

About your worth.

About your situation.

Turn off those voices in your head and start listening to God’s voice. Be blessed! Anna… ♥
