The mirror, the car, or the wallet?

what defines you3Is it the numbers on the scale?

The reflection in the mirror?

How many friends you have?

The cash in your wallet?

Your relationship status?

The size of your house?

The brand of the clothes you wear?

The car that’s sitting in your driveway?

The title behind your name?

The trophies in your office?

The awards of recognition on your wall?

One day ALL of it will be gone and absolutely none of it will matter.

When you stand in heaven before Christ He won’t ask you what brand of clothes you wore.

Instead He’ll ask you how many people you had a chance to clothe.

He won’t ask you if you enjoyed living in that big house of yours.

Instead He’ll ask you how hospitable you were and how many people you lovingly accepted into your home.

He won’t ask about how much you loved driving your cool sports car.

Instead He’ll ask how many people you were able to pick up and take to church to hear the Good News of His love in that car.

He won’t ask about how much cash you kept in your wallet.

Instead He’ll ask how much of it you gave away to those who were in need.

He won’t ask how much time you spent in front of the mirror trying to make yourself more beautiful for others on the outside.

Instead He’ll ask how much time you spent in His Word and working on becoming more beautiful for Him on the inside.

He won’t ask about how much you achieved for the world.

Instead He’ll ask how much you achieved for His Eternal Kingdom.

Today… what are you living for?

The temporary things that will pass away or the eternal things of God that will never pass away?

God is very clear in His Word that we need to store up our treasures in Heaven where it will remain forever rather here on earth where it will be meaningless the second we pass away.

How do you store up treasures in heaven rather than on earth?

It’s quite simple: you start living for God rather than yourself.

Instead of asking yourself whether or not what you have or what you do is beneficial to you… start asking God if any of it is beneficial to Him and His Kingdom.

Once that happens all the things that you can become so easily attached to here on earth become nothing more than a tool ready to be used for God’s glory, rather than for your own pleasure.

You won’t look at your wallet, your house, your body, or your time the same, because it stops being yours to use and it starts becoming God’s.

Where is your treasure today? Is it in your car, your wallet, or your mirror?

Is it on the achievements on the wall? The titles you possess? The awards you received?

Don’t be fooled. Many of those things mean a lot here on earth, but they have no worth or significance in heaven.

Be careful who and what you live for today.

Choose to live for God’s glory in Heaven, rather than for your own significance here on earth.

Be blessed!  Anna… ♥

Matthew 6:19-21

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
